Anyone loading 7mm-08?

Wondering if anyone has any good loads to get a 139/140 gr bullet up to 2900-300 fps from a 20-22" barrel? Thanks in advance

On Hogdon reloading data site...it shows varget is only getting in high 2800s at max. Is that a conservative max?

Varget and big game , you pick the bullet. I personally like using Winchester and lapua brass for my 7mm08s

Varget wouldn't get me there with the 140 or really any of the other powders either. I have a 22" barrel on two 7mm08s. Got about 2800 fps with varget. 3000fps with 120s

With a 20" barrel and 140's you won't get 3000 fps without being over pressure

In my 22" Lilja I was around 2925 with 140ttsx and h414(now 760?). That load was definitely on the high end.

Staball 6.5 gets the highest velocity for me in a 23" barrel, followed by Big Game, then RL17. I'm running the 145 gr LRX in the mid 2800s with StaBall, backed off from 2900 for accuracy.

Varget in a Tikka with 140 grain bullets around 3000 fps in my wife's 7-08. Not home for about a week so I can't provide specifics but I've posted in other similar threads. Try a search and you should find many load options for the 7-08.

Staball6.5 gets me 3055 from a 26 inch brux. Running lapua brass and a 140 ttsx . The 120 ttsx was running 3260 . It's definitely on the high end of the pressure curve and I'm planning on tweaking it down some now that I'm running a can on the end.
