Ammunition Storage

In the last year I moved to central Texas. In our previous home my safe was in the house.
In our new house the safe is in the garage. I store most of my rifle ammunition in the safe. What I am curious about is how the heat is going to affect the life span of the ammunition.
Humidity is not really an issue here. Especially since we have been in a drought since we have been here.

That's good to know. I was really more concerned that the powder or primers will lose some potency.
Not too concerned about my Dove shells. Mostly Rifle ammo.

You will be fine. Dry is good and you are dry there. As long as they aren't in direct heat in your garage like they would be on a100 degree dashboard in the summer you are GTG.
I would reccomend storing your ammo in a separate cabinet versus with your firearms in your safe though

I am working on a separate storage setup. The reality is that some of my ammo is probably worth more than the gun I have to shoot it! When you start talking about $100+ a box it doesn't take too many boxes to be worth more than a Remington 700 LSS
