Alliant powder bought by Hodgdon powder

I was told by a clerk at Cabelas today that Hodgdon Powder bought out Alliant. Any truth
to this and that Alliant was going to be discontinued? Just wondering.....,

I've been hearing that off and on for at least 10 years. Alliant Powder is owned by Vista Outdoor which also owns Federal, Speer, CCI, RCBS, and a couple of other divisions I can't remember right now. (I think Savage is amongst them.) Vista was spun off from ATK early last year. I really doubt that there's any truth to the rumors. There would have been some sort of official announcement. There are some Hodgdon/IMR powders that are made at the same facilities that make some Alliant powders, but that's a 3rd party supplier manufacturing the powders to the specs of the individual companies.
