  • I just bought one of the benelli r1 rifles, but doubt it will be shot any time soon. In the 70's, I worked up a one hole round using Rem. 150gr. BP bullets using some old Askins data in 300WM. I stopped loading in 1980 only to find myself with a new RCBS rig this year. Four sons will do that. My problem is I have lost my data on the rounds I loaded and only have a few left. As I recall, I used IMR 4227 powder which is unusual for that round. The data I find using the 4227 all seems to be a low end load. I opened one of my existing rounds and it was loaded with 78.2gr which is a compressed load. This just does not match up to the 4227. Any ideas on what is a fast load with this bullet with a max load of about 78.5gr. I just hate to start all over again. I have RSD and can no longer hunt or shoot, but I enjoy taking my sons. I appreciate any pointers as it looks like I will be getting back in the business of loading. phil
