Hello,
I am seeking information concerning Area 51 in northern N.M. I have talked to a person who has been succesful there and this is what I have learned. This area requires draw type licenses and success ratio is about 25 per cent for New Mexicans. There is both deer and elk there and the land is primarily BLM. The success from photo,s appeals to me. The hunter I conversed with simply has found a OTC area closer to home with more deer population. Fine by me!
I have the Time since retirement to spend on finding the best opportunities in this area. I have no desire to encounter again the game rich area known as Whites Peak because of the checkered private land/BLM land situation and the lying owners who are constantly claiming you are on their property when ,indeed, you are on BLM land.
