Have you tried adobe lightroom? I've been using it the last few months and found it to be pretty useful especially for managing haze/fog and vibrance. It has a tool just for haze management.

Took this this morning. The fog was obscuring too much of the hills for my taste and it cleared it up just enough to give it more depth.
