Looking for a starting load and max load for a 90 grain ELDX in a 6 x 47 lapua. I have Varget and H 4350.

I should probably run a heavier bullet, but I am using these for Crop damage deer in my 243 and they were great. Deer drop where they're standing.

I called Hornaday but they are useless. I don't even know why they have customer service.

Thanks for the help.

My sierra manual shows a start load of 30.8 gr and max of 36.6 gr of Varget
It shows a start load of 34.6 gr and max of 40.1 gr with H-4350 and their 90 gr TMK
Pick up some manuals Klemm. Hodgdon has data also. My Hornady manual doesn't even list the 6x47

Only place I'm seeing any help is in the Berger book.

One thing you should not do is transfer data from a similar bullet from another company, nothing about a Berger resembles a Hornady bullet. Hornady makes long bearing surface bullets for the most part.
BY Quickload, with a reasonable seat depth, for Varget it looks like start at 36gr and top out at 39gr.
For H4350 start around 40gr and stop around 43gr.

These are guidelines.

With that light of a bullet, Varget yields a much cleaner burn and better ballistic efficiency.
Always work up. Been doing it for years and have come across loads with sub moa accuracy.

Right, and most seasoned reloaders can do this, the OP asked for help, so I may have assumed.
Hodgdons reloading data center has a closer design bullet than a Berger, but gives pressures in CUP, not PSI.
No reason to defend yourself, I was not singling you out, I just gave the OP solid advice, carry on

Hornady's obsolete data list a 6x47, but doesn't seem to match with lapua. 222mag necked up to 6mm. VV site only list the 6.5L.
