Norhmamn, It's right in your last post! Get a 280 rem. and never look back. Basically this is just what you said a 30-06 necked to 7mm. Only other difference is the 280 shoulder is moved slightly further forward. You should be able to push a 150gr bullet about 2850-2900fps. If thats not enough get a 280 AI. I have a light rifle in 280rem for general purpose hunting and could not be happier with it's performance.
