Hello all
I have a Remington 700 Sendero 7STW stainless fluted with a vias brake it has a Meopta 3-12x56 the reticle is a 4B. The bullets that I shoot are CPC Cartridge 7mm STW 140 Gr. Barnes TSX the tech guy told me 2.59 inches high at 100 yards to be 0 at 300 yards. You will be 7.75 low at 400 then 20.5 low @ 500.

My ? is and you have to look at the link that is below the tick marks that are in the scope that are below the center of reticle how far apart are thy and what would each one be as far as a range?

And should I be zero @ 300yds

This is a link to see the reticle click on the 4b reticle

Draw up a grid of 1 inch squares and look through the scope at it at exactly 100 yds. Work out how many inches below the crosshair each line is.

Chronograph your load and run the info through a ballistic program, there are several free ones on the net JBM is a good one.

The elevation adjustments in MOA will equal (close enough) the inches below the cross hair at 100 yds.

For example if you zero at 300 yds the line closest to 7.75 inches below the crosshair will be the zero for about 400yds.

Be aware this will only work for ONE magnification setting on your scope unless the cross hair is in the first focal plane, ie the cross hair gets bigger as you increase magnification, then it will work at all magnifications.

Clear as mud?

This is what CPC has sent me is this right that the bullet will drop this much?

140 Gr. Barnes TSX 3410 / 3614 +0.96 / 3190 / 3163 +0.00 / 2978 / 2756 -4.90 / 2774 / 2391 -14.30 / 2578 / 2065 -28.99 / 2391 / 1776

300 Yds 0
400 Yds -7.75
500 Yds -20.5
600 Yds -40.00
700 Yds -66.00
800 Yds -100.67
900 Yds -144.90
1000 Yds -201.00

The numbers for the drops look about right, IF you are getting that velocity from your rifle.

I made an error in reading your original post, 7.75 inches drop at 400 yds equals 1.85 MOA at 400 yds. The line 1.85 inches below the cross hair will the zero line for 400 yds.

You need to convert your drops in inches to MOA for the system I told you to work. The formula to use is drop in inches/ ((range/100) x 1.047).

Basically 1MOA = 1 " at 100 yds, 2" at 200 yds, 3" at 300 yds etc.

Stu.
