So I'm getting a rifle done in 7 prc with a 24" proof sendero light that's a 1-8.4 twist
My goal is to shoot 175 elite hunters or possibly 180 vldh . I've had a few people tell me I need a 1-8 twist but in my experience with those bullets that 8.4 twist should be more than adequate. Any thoughts on this ?

My Rem 700 in 7mm Rem Mag with a 1 in 9.25 stabilizes the 180gr VLDH without any issues, so yes, the 1 in 8.4 will get it done.
Copy that !! That's what I figured would be the answer. My last 7 rem was 1-8.5 and worked great.
I'm a weak weak man !!
I said I'd never use hornady brass and now I'm getting a prc haha 🤦‍♂️At least I gave up the bud lights.

My 7SS is a 24" 1:8.4". I shoot the 184 F Open Hyb, 180 Hyb, and 175 Elite. No stability issues at all.

Berger states "1:10" minimum" for the 175 Elite and "1:9" minimum" for the 180 VLD. The 1:8.4" will be great.
I ran the 175 elite on the twist rate calculator at 3000 fps , 2450 elev and a 8.4 twist 5°C and I expected it to be pinned out at over 2.00 since min twist is 1-10 and it only gives it 1.85 I believe it was.
I am not concerned I just thought it would be maxed out

I have a 7prc with a 24" Proof Sendero light 1-8.4 twist. I just got it barely broke in using 175 ELDX and 180 Match and it shot both well under a half. Very happy so far.

I got mine back this week. It seems to shoot the 180 eldm really good. The 175 eldx ammo was not as good. It seems slow though. 2880 with the 180 and 2830 with the 175. I think I'm just going to pull the bullets on the other 6 boxes I have because the stuff I loaded last night the primer pockets are pretty loose.
