6.5x47, RL-16, 143 ELD-X

Not much info out there, so here's todays data. I started at 36.5 grains and worked up, 36.5, 37.0, 37.5, 37.8, 38.0, all loads showed no pressure signs at all. 38.0 is the max that fits in the case without compressing the powder.

OAL is 2.765", seated about .010 off the rifiling

All the other loads shot around 1/2", but to be fair I was trying to shoot when the wind died down.

38.0 proved to be the best with groups in the .2's or better, and my personal best 3 shot group ever.

QL is showing this load combo of powder and bullet to be ideal. At 2700 fps you should be around 58K pressure which is also ideal. Thanks for the info.

Just got the 143 gr eld-x bullets have u tried varget I shot Berger 140 with a bartlein left hand gain twist and shot well bit wanted to c if these ar as good as they say they are

My 6.5x47 is a R700 with 28" 8twist barrel. I have found my sweet spots with velocity at 2900fps/120gr NBT with 37.1gr 2208(varget) this shoots under .25" groups and down to .1

130gr Berger and 129grABLR shot nearly identically with 2208 36.5gr at 2810 both of these were around 0.4".
The 140 gr bergers I ran from 38.0gr 2209(h4350) to 41.0gr, best groups at 39.5 gr but I only have velocities from 40.1 2785fps to 41.0 2835fps.
I was hoping to get an extra 100fps from each weight of bullet but the groups started opening up whenever I pushed the velocity, I am currently shooting the 120's as they have proved themselves and I am only hunting fallow deer/goats and pigs with this rifle.

Great shooting rocket! The 6.5x47 lapua is a awesome round for sure. Im shooting 36.5 grains varget with 140 berger and 143 eldx. Shoots extremely well. G7 rangefinder says around 2725 fps, not a hot load in my rifle extracts perfect with no ejector marks. Mcwhorter precision 6.5x47 lapua 24" hart mtu contour barrel. Have tried rl17 with very good results also.
