Hey guys.

I'm having a custom 6.5x47 lapua rifle built from my old .223 Remy tactical. I've had the .223 for around 2 years now mainly shooting varmints and fox with occasional Roe deer. I decided to take the plunge and get a 6.5x47 after reading brilliant reviews. The spec of the new rifle will be as follows .....

Remy action blueprinted
Krieger heavy varmint barrel cut to 26"
Screw cut with invisible thread cap
Barrel fluted
Custom bolt ,also fluted
Action bedded into AICS
At some point a Nightforce NXS scope.

What I am trying to sort out is load data. After speaking to a fellow 47 shooter , he uses 140gn A-Max with great results.
Does anyone use 140gn A-Max with varget powder ? Would be very interested to hear how you got on with it, speeds, COAL etc.

Thanks

Craig

I'm shooting the 140 berger target hybrid with 38.2 of varget over the 450 @ 2885fps. I played with different charges and got up over 2950fps, but accuracy was less than 3/8 inch 5 shot groups at the slower speed. Brux 27 inch barrel.
