Been a couple years since I've been able to get out and do much for shooting (had some issues with vertigo that were surgically corrected recently), but am getting back into it again.
Have a 6.5 WSM on the way, 26" 8 twist Gaillard barrel and am ordering a Sightron S-Tac 4-20x50 (MOA-2). Looking forward to seeing what it (and I) can do.
Tried a search here for load data and couldn't find a whole bunch. I'm kinda computer stupid though, so may have used the wrong terms....
Anyway, does anyone have load data to share with 140gr +, or could point me in the right direction? PO of the rifle did some initial testing with the 140 Berger and WXR powder (in his words, "it's a friggin laser"), put 60 rounds through it and put it away.

I have used H1000 and RL 26. The accurate velocity node was attained by both powders. They both had a flat spot at 3075. I know this is slower but it's a 24" barrel and 143 eldx. I am 60.7 RL 26 and was about 62-63 of H1000. I had much better results with fed 215 primers.

Thanks for info, will see what I can find. Not a great selection up here yet (Vancouver Island), but it does seem to be getting a bit better.

I've built a few of them and my accuracy nodes fall in line with Rhovees. I have had good success with H4831, H-1000 and Retumbo. 3100-3150 seems to be the sweet spot for this cartridge. Higher velocities can be attained but the best accuracy I have found has been at a slower node. 63.5gr of H-1000 gave me exactly 3100 fps with the new Hornady 147 and better than half moa accuracy.

My experience is the same as stomp. 3150 seems about the best with 140's in the four different 6.5 WSM's I've tried. I can push to 3200 with good results, though.

I've used all of the following powders. Grains listed are close to or max loads.

4831SC - 62-62.5, my second choice powder
N570 - 65-66
R22 - 61.5
R26 - 62-64
R33 - 71
H1000 - 62
Retumbo - 68

26" barrels. 4831SC and R26 were basically a toss up with velocity and accuracy. I picked R26 since I use it in my 22 and 6 Creedmoors as well.

Rifle showed up yesterday, but thinking the scope may be a bit due to the holiday season. See if I can remember how to post a pic over the weekend.
Came with a bag of 1F brass and maybe 90 loaded rounds (which I will be pulling). Quick look shows there's at least 5 different brands/sizes????? Win 300 and 270, FC 300 and 270, couple Rem and saw one Nosler so far. Will sort them into lots, but thinking it may be a whole lot easier to start over with all new brass. Don't imagine there was any real consistancy, but I guess you never know......
