I can agree with the two recommendations you got for the Mauser M18. I have one and it is beyond excellent. It is made in the same factory as the Sauer 100 (I have two) and it is the best factory rifle made today. If you want more stock options, look at Sauer 100's, everything from beechwood to camo synthetic. My 3 are all sub quarter MOA and yes I have targets to prove it.

Browning X Bolt, Hells Canyon. I touch over you price range but worth it

Yeah, if I had to choose between Bergara and Browning X-BOLT, I would probably go crazy. They are both very good rifles. Thankfully, I have enough good rifles now I don't have to make that decision. I was leaning toward X-Bolt when I got addicted to Sauer/Mauser. Now I don't have room for Bergara or X-Bolt. Did get to shoot a fellow member's X-Bolt at camp and they are handy.
