6.5 PRC with N560 or Retumbo

I'm just having my 6.5 PRC finished up based off a Tikka 300 win mag with a 24inch 1-7.5 twist barrel.
I cannot seem to find any N 565 or H1000 kicking around, and I will not run RL26. There seems to be really good results and lots of info using 565, and H 1000. Has anyone tried N560 or Retumbo with the 156 Berger as I have both of these powders.

I've tried h1000 and imr7977 and both work really well from what I'm starting to see the 7977 works better as you work ur load up...had to go to 7977 due to availability of h1000 but I think Ill stick with it

I got luck and found a pound of h1000, just started working up a cheap deer load with 140 Speer hotcors, 2 groups showed real promise being under 1/4 moa from my m18 mauser.

My buddy tried retumbo in his prc but with 147eld got over 3050 24" .

Thanks I'll be trying both 560 and Retumbo I do have a line on 570 as well the rest are ghosts up here right now.

Hope it works out for you, I'd like to try the 156 but I'm cheap and my prc is a 1-8.66 twist.

Of those choices, I'd use the Retumbo.

RETUMBO!! To be honest I have H1000 on hand to work with the 6.5PRC but after working with the retumbo (so far) I'll stick with retumbo! No need to get off the OneHoling train!

Have a friend that just got all the components to start load development on a Christenson Mesa 6.5 PRC with Berger 156's. Don't have any data on these. Could use some load data to get started. I have H1000, Retumbo and 7828ssc to start with. Any info you can give would be appreciated.

Bringing up buried bones here but how sid retumbo fair with the 156's?

Been having good luck with n560. It's really good in the PRC.

I think nowadays it's more of a choice of what's available, that will work! We grab what we can in the parameters of are load data, what's available. Can't be so picky today as far as choice. N560 should work just fine. But if you have retumbo, it should work great. Your rifle will tell you just listen!

Hey there, which bullet are you running with the n560? Care to share any data? I am trying to build up a new load right now using 156 burgers and n560.

If you can find N565, get some to try. I had all intentions of running H1000 until I tried the N565. It seems to work very well with the 156. YMMV
