Ran the new 80gr HHT's up to 3865 FPS with no signs of pressure. Gonna go smack some coyotes with tipped and non-tipped version. Steve said the non-tipped will expand rapidly.

Once I get a few Coy-dogs on the ground. I'll see how much faster I can get this bullet moving.

Have you run that through quickload? Nosler data in 6mm or 6.5 creedmoor with 80 grain bullets is 3400 ish max. Wether you can see pressure signs or not I would bet those loads are over saami max. How many loadings are the brass lasting?

Never occurred to me to use them without the tips. I have moved my whitetail loads towards the Power or shock hammers since I think a little quicker expansion would be more better lol. I am holding out for the tipped version to be factory installed just because I'm odd like that.

Zen, Thank you for sharing.

under some conditions, I think that you could hear those bullets with the poly tips removed Whistle while going to the target. After shooting a coyote with one, it should be half-skinned, at least!

The super large Hollow point will slow down impact velocity and blow in the wind more, but up to 200 yards, you should experience very humane kills.

After killing a coyote, while fresh, I would urge you to hang him up in a tree or fence post and do more bullet testing.

So you are getting 264 win mag velocities from a case with 30 gr less capacity?

Virtually everyone shooting the 85gr HH bullet in their Creed was able to exceed 3,400fps safely. I was able to shoot them at 3,700fps in a 26" bbl, but that was probably an exception. The Lapua cases were fine, CCI 450s were fine and there was not any heavy bolt lift.
FWIW - I was loading with Varget powder.

I'd assume that you could get a bit more velocity with the 80gr HHT which is (obviously) lighter and appears to have even less engraving surface than the HH bullets.

I'm getting 3500 from an 18" proof 6.5 creed with the 85 HH with a full case of TAC. It's hell on whitetail, I love it
