I was just inquiring about 50 BMG Bullets and the 500 Nitro Express Cartridge as both cartridges are .510 in diameter. If 50 BMG bullets such as the 750gr A-Max were used in the 500 Nitro cartridge (if even possible) what would the expected velocities be. I was thinking that it might be a better option than a 50 Alaskan with 50 BMG bullets.

500 ne tends to use round nose bullets, not "long/sleek" bullets , but they mightwould work in it-- you would need to check freebore/ jump to lands to make sure though. Since most 50ne's are single load, you shouldn't be limited by any mag/box length restrictions.

It should work. the 500 NE is normally loaded with a 570 grain bullets and you could even try the 647 to 808 grain bullets as long as your rifle is actually ,510 diameter. There appears to be many different diameters of bullets for the 500 NE ranging from .509 to .512 diameter. depending on there construction.
