I have a Win Model 70 stainless in 338 WM CRF. Probably 10-20 years old. Would this be conducive to rebarrelling to 375 HH and making sure magazine and ejection are working perfectly? Rifle appears to be In excellent condition. Worth the investment?

Gday Zeeman
Could we have a little more information please

is a future hunt in mind that requires a 375 for min calibre or is it a want to have one

& nothing wrong with a want one especially the 375h&h imo

Cheers

Modifying my choice and a desire to have something I currently do not have

Gday zeeman
I'd go to a gunsmith & get a idea on if that's in your budget or someone here may give you a ballpark figure 🤞
If so go for it imo as the old h&h is a truely great chambering

Cheers

To build in @fordy 's comments, it might be easier, faster and economically advantageous just to buy a New Haven Win M70 Classic in 375h&h. Then decide whether to keep your other rifle or sell it. Most people who own them, don't shoot them as much as smaller calibers. I know I don't.

Are the new ones CRF?

If you "improve" it and do not want to shoot at distances beyond , let's say for convenience 800 yards, and are a hand loader…..it's all you'll ever need/want for big game!

But, I'm exceedingly biased in my opinion! memtb

Great response, except…..they're heavy as heck! Of course that tames the recoil…..which if left as an H&H is pretty mild! memtb
