The 180 xtps I have, have the 2 cannelures. I think they stopped using 2.

I have tried them all. I have had 6 Maxis and have friends with them.
Hands down best powder has been 1680.
If ya can get some. Give it a try. I know you will find good accuracy.

I do have about 2 1/2 lbs 1680. Ever try that with 158s?
BTW, I ran the 140SH over 2700 in my Max with Enforcer. No game yet, but maybe next year.

I've had good success with H110/W296 and the 180XTP, the old 180SSP by Hornady, 180HP by Remington, and a 200RNSP. I've used Lil'Gun behind some 170's and 158's, and H110 with some old Remington 150SpireSP. All in 10" and 14" Contenders.
Similar in my 10" and 14" 357 Herretts.
