338/ 300 RUM Powder

Looking for powder and load suggestions for 300 grain SMK's in a 34" 338/ 300 RUM. I'm debating between US869, H50BMG, and Retumbo. I want all the velocity I can safely get, but I'm more concerned with accuracy, cleanliness (I don't like excessive fouling), and efficiency.

I have had good luck with Retumbo and H1000 with the lighter bullets in the 300RUM. Can't answer for the 300 gr. though.

I have tried H1000, US 869, Retumbo & RL25 with the 300 gr SMK in a 30" tube. I setteld on the H1000 for it's very tight extreme velocity spreads and temp insensitivity. I got 70-80 fps faster out of 869 but velocity psreads were all over the place and temp really effected it.

Thanks for the info. What's the velocity on the 300 grain SMK with H1000 in a 30" tube? I've heard bad things about the corrosive nature of H1000 on a bore. I used to use it religously in a 7mm Rem with 150 grain NBTs but quit to save bbl life. Have you noticed any adverse affects on bbl life with that powder?

I usually run 2850-2875 fps with the H1000. I have not seen any barrel issues with the H1000 that were not normal wear and tear issues.
