Do any of you have a load that works well with these? I am hoping to use H4831. The rifle is a 22" sporter barrel howa with a 1 in 10" twist. All stock.

I load 165 grain Ballistic Tip. I'm using Varget however, I'm thinking H4831 may be a bit too slow for the 308 win.

I think I'm at 45.5 grns Varget.

I use either Varget 44-45 grains or RL-15. H4831 is not a good choice. You will need more powder than the case with hold to get any kind of velocity.

Another one to consider that seems to be available is AR-Comp. It's worked very well for me with 168s when the old stand by powders weren't available. I like it so much that it's replaced my old favorites.

My Howa 308 preferred the 150g BT's over 45g of varget. I have them set about 10 thou off the lands. My throat is so long I have to single load these but often shoot sub .25" groups.
