300 Weatherby to 340?

Yes, that will work, the other way will not.
The 300 has a longer case to the shoulder, so, it is simply pushing the shoulder back and opening the neck to 338 cal.
I fire either in my 375 Weatherby to get brass, both are short in the shoulder on the 375.
