Hi All,

I have a couple of Weatherby's I currently load for. A 300 WBY and a 30-378 WBY. They are driving tacks- so no worries there.

I have not fired the .340 yet. I just need a little input on which powders seem to work best for it using 225-250 grain bullets. Particularly Barnes 225 TTSX, Nosler 225 Accubonds, Nosler 250 Partitions.......

I have RL- 26, N568, N570, H4350, H1000, Retumbo, but it seems from reading the manuals it likes powders in the H4350 class and above- N160, N165, RL-22, RL-19, RL-25, H4831

Anyone out there with some good experience on the .340 WBY??

With 200gr to 215 pills, my cousin and I get sub .5 moa from R19, H4350, H4831 and N560 varying between 84 and 87.5grs. Both guns have Rem 700 actions and 24" Lilja barrels - his is best with N560, mine with factory 200gr Wby ammo which is Norma proprietary powder (that they don't/won't sell to the public) and with R19

For bullets 200gr - 225gr I find H4831 best, but prefer H1000 with 250gr bullets.
With the 250gr bullets, I can't reach 3000fps with H4831 without high pressure signs, whereas H1000 does it easily.
With 225gr, I cannot get enough H1000 into the case, and H4831 gets the speed up to where it should be.
