300 RUM barrel break in

Hopefully this has not been answered before. I've searched the forum but cannot find anything.

What are your opinions on barrel break in for a .300 RUM? I've seen quite a bit of information regarding break in procedure for rifles but not specific for the the 300RUM. According to owners of the 300 RUM it has a short barrel life of anywhere between 500-1200 rounds. So should I go through a break in procedure?

No different than any other caliber. If it is a custom barrel, go to their website and look at their recommendations.
