Need a little help here…..New to this caliber. I researched the caliber and found the trim off to be .435.
Do you cut the neck off before resize or after. What powder & how much of it? How heavy of a bullet?
Cast bullet? Game king bullet? TIA Lyle

After sizing. It's best to anneal the necks after fire forming since you are into the area that was nor annealed from the factory.
I shoot speer 130 grain HP or Sierra 125 HP in front of IMR 4198. 110 grain HP with 296 powder is great for prairie dogs. Enjoy

Amen, those are great recipes. When I had my .30 Herrett TC in the late 70s, I thought the cartridge and pistol performed way above their weight class. I really liked that cartridge. As a handloader, it was way more versatile than one might think. Cheers

Thanks for your reply Red ! If you still have a piece of brass would you mind measuring and get back to me with the measurements?

If you can find a Form&Trim die, it will make life much simpler (if your press is single stage).

Just run the brass into the die and zip off whatever is stick out with a hacksaw or dremel

1.6" should be the trim length

Best way right here. Redding still has them. Rcbs you can find. Anything "wildcat" you will spend the $$ to play.

..boy, brings back old memories !! Had a Super 14 in 35 herrett back when they were first introduced, seems to me it was in the late 70's? First time I had to form casings to make it work, actually very simple to take the 30/30 case up to .357 dia, loved that handgun and it really leveled those IHMSA silhouettes...then babies started showing up and I sold it, what a blockhead I was..

Still have mine. Bought it for metal silhouette and ended up doe hunting in PA with it until they put buck and doe together. I used 4227 powder and 130 grain hollow points.
