Loading for a friend and this is what he brought me. To that I am tossing in Berger 175g VLD's. Shooting a factory Rem 700 1:10 twist. I had suggested h_4350 but he did his own reading. Bergers book goes from 44-49 gr Max. From a quick look around I'm thinking I will end up around 47-48 gr for a hunting load.
Any one else use this combo of bullet weight and powder with any success?

I guess if you are ok with velocity less than 2,500fps. (never tried it but may max out more like 2400fps)

Lots better suited for IMR4350 or IMR4451 if can't get H4350. Look for 2,700fps with these 3 powders at 55 to 56 grains, will be on node then also.

I use 4064 for a friend's rifle with lighter bullets with very good results. It might be faster than you would think.(possibly in the 2700 range)

Try IMR 7828 SSC... I shoot it in my .30-06 AI with 185 VLD's, and I'm getting between 2,900-3,000 fps out of a 26" barrel.

When dialing in my 30-06 I used every powder mentioned in the contributing posts, I wasn't pleased with any of the results. I read a post in a different website forum stating success with Varget, the gun dialed into 5 round nickel groups at 100 yds with 47 grains at 2710 fps with 168 grain AMAX. Didn't see that coming I was pleasantly surprised.
