Here is a recap on my 30-06 168gr loads using Reloader 17. It sure has some speed out of a 22" barrel.

Here is my resent ocw test using my 30-06 marlin xl7 rifle using 168gr amax and reloader 17: I did not run into any pressure signs, I may go higher in charge.

Okay back from the range. Went forward with more powder for 30-6 RL-17.

Looks like 57.4gr thru 57.7gr have same POI. As 57.1 was scatter and and got scatter at 58.0grs. So my guess would be 57.6 gr would be OCW? Comments? I may have pulled the 3rd shot in 57.7 grs.

Did some more testing with my hunting bullet 168gr TSX. Ended up using different primers, changed to CCI-BR2 no change to POI. However it was a hotter primer and raise the speed up. I played with bullet seating and I'm pretty happy with the results. Of coarse I want to retest the load and test them at farther distance. My plan is 500 yards max with this combo.

Reloader 17 @ 57.5grs.

Hi cva54,

Well I dont think BLC2 is all that great with the 06, got any other powders? 4350 seems to be the best for 150's up. What bullet weight you working with?

I got IMR 4350 and 150 fmj/150 sp/bt 165 sp/bt. I have been doing some research. Starting to think I need some difrent powder. The part that get me is the BLC-2 will push the FMJ bullets great but when I use the SP/BT it all falls apart. Both bullets are listed in the same recipe.

I had a load worked up for my 30-06 sporter that worked really well with 168gr berger and RL17. Thought I had a keeper. POI and grouping changed from one range outing to the next. Not absolutely sure but I think the 17 is a bit more temperature sensitive than the loads I had worked up previously wityh 4831sc. Might be that the brass was ready for annealing though as well.

well re17 52.5 200sie gameking 10 shots low 2775 high 2898fps need to try dif f primer 53 gr same bullet 2630 2730 how does it work?
