Ok guys I am torn between the 28 nosler and 7 PRC! It will be just a hunting rifle. It will be for elk hunting and potentially mule deer and shots out to 800 yards. I have had a bad itch for the 28 nosler. Just alot of info out there. It will need to be a fairly light rifle I will say total scope included around 8.5-9 pounds. I do reload so the 28 nosler wont kill the wallet. What's the pros and cons of either caliber. Thanks for any input!

I think my next rifle will be a 7 PRC. I have two 28s now and love them, but I shoot them somewhat sparingly. The wind drift of 195s at 3000i s about the same as a .338 300 Berger at 2900 or a 30 cal 225 ELDM at 3000.

With my 28N I can see hits at 760 and farther, which I cannot do with the bigger bores (at 1000 and farther I can).

My budget will be right around 2000 for the rifle give or take a couple hundred. I am leaning towards a christensen arms traverse or the seekins PH2 and maybe a fierce but have never handled a fierce. I know a lot of people don't like Christensen but I have had good luck with them. I think that's what I am leaning towards.
