.270 Berger Match Grade Classic

Hello everyone,

I just bought a pack of 100 of these bullets. Has anyone used these for hunting or target shooting? If so what are your results and what is your load data?

Had a friend load them for a very old .270 Win model 70 with average results. He tried 3 powders and I think the barrel was toast before he started. I load the 140 and 150 VLD for my .270 Wby with sub MOA at 200. You may have better results with the Classics in a rifle having a better barrel than his. Good luck

The rifle is a factory Browning A-bolt that shoots Sierra match kings with 55 grains H4350 with .4 inch groups at 100 yards.

I use them in a factory Remington and they shoot under half inch at 100. Haven't used them on game yet. I'm using h4831 sc.

How do you like using the 4831 SC?

These are what I use in my .270. 54gr of H4350 and I can put five in almost one ragged hole with a factory savage. 1/2 MOA all the way out to 800 no problem.

H 4831 shoots well out of my gun but every guns different though. I hunt in Utah October to December for deer and elk so I think it's not temperature sensitive.

For the .270 WINCHESTER we show a starting load of 50.5 grains with a maximum of 55.0 grains. Approximate velocities are 2795 to 3045 feet per second and it show an approximate fill ratio of 96%.
Load information is based on a magazine length round (3.340 COAL) and a 26 inch barrel.
