going to try and get a load going with some retumbo and 140 gr berger vld's that I have coming. have 1 lb of r33 to play with to play with to see if I can get better velocity. if so i'll change. just looking for load data and any info/help I can get.

I worked with several cartridges and RL-33 with no data on them. I can't believe that Alliant STILL hasn't updated their loading page.

RL-33 is slower than Retumbo. Use that as your guide. Choose a load that is near max for Retumbo and you will be fine.

Hodgdon's loading page says 63.5 gr of Retumbo with a 140 gr bullet is max. Start with 61- 62 grs of RL-33 and work up.

This approach has worked for me with: 6mm-284, 257 weatherby, 7 rem mag, 300 RUM and 7mm/375 Ruger

Ran RL 33 in my 264 26" from 69 gr up to 74. Sticky bolt lift until I got to 72 then the groups started tightening up. Found a 5/8" 100 yard 3-shot group with 74 gr. Bullet is the 142 LRAB though, not the Berger.
Next step is to run them for repeatability, chrony and out to 700 yards and see how they do.
