Thinking of re-barreling my 6mm Rem in a Rem 600. I have heard the 6.5x47 is able to reach similar velocities to the 260 Rem. It would allow long bullets to be seated out like the 130 grain VLD Bergers. That appeals to me. How much more poop in a 260AI?

So for a 5.5 pound rifle for sheep to caribou with a featherweight 22" barrel 260 Rem, 260AI or 6.5X47 and why? Guide me Oh wise ones!

Look at the 6.5 creedmoor same velocity as the 260 with the ability to load the 130 and 140 VLDs to the lands.

I shoot a 260 Rem with the bullets you mentioned, but my main load is the 140 A-Max for Tac shooting. They all group at least 1/2" MOA or better in my rifle. I like the availibilty of the 260, brass (Lapua)ven Rem and ammo, if needed in a pinch. It's easy to find. I reload my own. My main load travels at about 2788 with a 24" Brux barrel, suppressed. Extremely accurate!!
