.243 action length

I am wanting to build a long range .243 on a savage/stevens action. My question is will a short action be long enough to use the internal magazine if i use the long 115 DTAC bullets? Thanks guys

Probably not, but stranger things have happened. Depends on the throat of the rifle. I have a model 7 Rem and with the 95grn SST's they just fit in the magazine. It is a bit shorter than a normal short action though. There may be an after market magazine you could install that would help in your predicament. One of the rifle builders should know.

the magazines are different,savage has them for around 20.00
