2018 SHOT Show (ELR-Specific): Day 3 (Thursday, Jan 25, 2018):

See intro comments/context at the beginning of the Day 1 post. To Day 3…

Sorry to report that, as I was preparing to head into the show this AM, I dropped my camera and damaged it to the extent that it will not power up. So, today's and tomorrow's posts may include some pics but they will not be mine from the show.

Starting with the NNs - AAC, Alliant, Bell & Carlson, Burris, Bushmaster, CZ USA, Dakota Arms, ERGO, Federal, FN, Forster, Hodgdon, Hornady, H-S Precision, IWI US, Knight's, KFS Industries, LaRue Tactical, Leica, Lothar Walther, Lyman, Magpul, Magtech, MEC, MTM, Nesika, Nobel Sport, Norma, RCBS, Remington, Revic, Savage, Sellier & Bellot, Sierra, Steyr, SWORD, Thunder Beast, Trijicon, Truvelo, Weatherby, and Zeiss.

ATN - was showing the "X-Sight 4K BH", Buck Hunter series, electronic scope with integrated ballistic calculator, Smart Range Finding (image height bracketing), and 7 reticles (all user-selectable, electronically), the 5-20 power model has an MSRP of $699 (https://www.atncorp.com/x-sight-4k-buckhunter-rifle-scope-5-20x); optionally you can add the "ATN Ballistics Range Finder/ABL" for automatic range finding and communications directly to the scope (mounts to the front of the scope, 1000 and 1500 yard versions, MSRP $379 for the 1500 yard version, https://www.atncorp.com/range-finder).

Barnes - has added the 250 gr, .338 caliber, tipped, "LRX" bullet (#31150, .602 BC - higher than their current 265 gr LRX, http://www.barnesbullets.com/bullets/lrx/)

Bushnell - announced the "DMR II Pro 3.5-21x50" scope (10 mil/rev, zero stop, throw lever, and "ED Prime" glass), expected to be available in June.

Falke/Schmeisser - was showing the Falke Pro Series 5-30x56 scope and Schmeisser USM quick-detachable (to Pic rail) scope mount; the scope is SFP, 34mm tube, approx 24 mil elevation, with HD(S) glass, currently approx 800 Euros in Europe, available in the US in May; the mount attaches using two, spring-loaded, side bars and aligns via a spring-loaded, beveled, cross bar (the bevel allows attach to not-so-perfect-to-spec rail slots); MSRP $300-350, available his Summer.

Geissele - was "showing" (inside a rifle) its Rem-700-"compatible", "Super 700" trigger; can be user-configured for single or 2-stage operation (back and forth), top safety, trigger pull from 3/4# to 3.5#; MSRP $250 (available for pre-order at Brownells - https://www.brownells.com/rifle-par...px?avs|Manufacturer_1=GEISSELE+AUTOMATICS+LLC)

Medwell Precision Rifles (UK) - was showing an example of its Vanquish rifle; come later this year they expect to launch a version in .338 LM (Mauser 98 clone action, fully adjustable, modern chassis, takes AI CIP-length mags, Recknagel trigger, action DLC coated over polished surface yields brilliant glossy finish, all parts except the trigger are built in house); looking for US partner to import; https://medwellprecisionrifles.com/the-rifles

Meopta - added the TGA 75 series spotting scope (20-60x75 and 30x75, very rugged; http://www.meoptasportsoptics.com/en/overview/spotting-scopes-5/tga-series-32.html

Nikon - was showing two new LRFs, the "Monarch 3000 Stabilized" and the "Black RangeX 4K" (3000 and 4000 yards max reflective ranges, respectively; the first with image stabilization; both with incline/decline technology; $419 and $449 SRP, respectively) - look out SIG!

Schmidt & Bender - was showing a zebra-pattern painted (feature hiding) 3-21x50 Competition/Hunting scope with "LRH-MOA" reticle (FFP/mil and SFP/MOA models in development), 76-78 MOA elevation, illuminated, 34mm tube, single-, double-, and multi-turn with locking (double-turn with zero stop); MSRP: TDB, available between Summer and Fall; also (brochure) showed switch activated/deactivated "multi-functional turrets for elevation and windage" for what appears to be most of the current PM II models.

Seekins Precision - added the "Pro Comp CH-2" stock (CH stands for Carbon Hunter, a carbon fiber design, inlets will include Rem 700 LA, showing very nice looking CF layup pattern; expected to be shipping by early Summer).
