Anyone on here shooting the 195 Eldm? Looking at running it in my 300 WM. I know all the other Eldms are awesome! Just curious if anyone is running them on game

Also wondering the same!! I think the 185-200gr range is the sweet spot for my gun. I'm looking into the 195eldms for game. I'm worried they might be a little too explosive though, considering the damage I've seen done by the tiny 6.5mm 140ish eldms

There is a ton of conversation on the board about using the eldM on game. Some feel its too explosive. However I have killed deer numbering in the hundreds and half dozen elk with the 225eldM out of my 300wm. I find them amazing and wont shoot anything else!

We have also used them for deer and pigs in the 6.5grendal with 123eldM with a ton of success.

The 195 should still carry enough mass to get penetration on large game and still be plenty explosive to make quick kills on long range shots. They seem to work very well at low impact speeds of long range shots. My advice is to bump on up to the 225's Any loss of speed will be well worth it in gain of BC and pay dividends on long shots!

Used to use the 6.5 amax 123 gr on blacktail here until we had to switch to mono's. Plenty of one shot kills, with most DRT or going just a few yards. A member from my hunting party dropped a pretty nice black bear with a 178 amax at about 200 yards from his 308. The eldm should have the same effect.
