just picked up a box of 180 hunter elite bullets .576 bc .My old load for my 30-06 was 185 berger vld 57 grains h4350 2840fps. I going to go to 57.5 maybe 57.7 hoping for 2860 to 2880 and the accuracy i had with the 185 vld. I have not hunted with my 30-06 for 5 years shooting larger magnums. I may this year for fun i was wondering if anyone has loaded any of these bullets for the 30-06 and what kind of accuracy and speed they might have got

What velocity are you getting?

Standard '06 won't get near the same velocities as the AI version, but I'm between 2,900-3,000 fps with a 26" barrel. I have a pretty fast barrel, and I'm pushing it pretty hard according to QuickLoad, but I'm not seeing any major pressure signs, so I guess I'll keep shooting it. Each rifle is different. I would not recommend pushing your rifle that hard. I do so for testing purposes only, not for consistant loading.

I'm also curious how these new 180gr EH bullets are going to work out. I wish there were people with some "on-game" experience at this point. I may just end up chambering something to fire these bullets and find out for myself.

Keep everyone posted on your experiences when you get them.

I'm running a hex boron coated 208 ELD at 2750 fps with RL 17. I went to 2820 fps and no pressure signs but just the thought of it going that fast freaked me out. So I went with 2750. I'm able to load them to 3.45" and still fit in the mag.
I wouldn't be surprised if you hex coat them you could break 2900 fps or more with the right powder.

Are you guys running Lapua brass? 2820 fps with a 208 is awesome performance out of a 30-06. I have always wanted to do a 30-06 AI. Some of these new 200 gr bullets have peaked my interest.

I'm running Winchester brass. 2820 fps was just crazy velocity, so I backed off to 2750 fps. I'm afraid when it gets warm, it will be over pressure.

You should build one. I don't care much for the standard .30-06, but I do like my .30-06 AI.

Unfortunately Remington brass...Free range pickups. I've literally never bought .30-06 brass, because it's so popular around here, you can go to any range and pickup at least 20 a day...Unfortunately, most people are cheap and shoot crappy Remington ammo.

Thinking about buying some Lapua for it, but so far doing alright with the Remington brass.

Maybe when my 25-06 AI barrel goes on me I'll do a 30-06 AI. Could spin the barrel off my 22-284 as well. Never shoot it and can't seem to sell it. Being in rural Canada there are no gun ranges per say in my area. So going to a range a picking up brass is not a option for me. I don't mind paying for Lapua brass. I feel it is actually a better deal than Hornady,Winchester, Nosler etc.

I'd keep the .25-06 AI... Pull the .22-284 barrel and build the .30-06 AI. IMO, it's a bit redundant to have a hotrod .224 when you got a hotrod .257. :D

Lapua brass is all I use in my .308 Win precision loads. It's well worth the money, and super high quality stuff.

Yeah the 22-284 seemed like a good idea at the time lol. A 80 gr Berger at 3600 fps is cool though. But so is a 115 berger out of the 25-06 AI at 3350 fps.

Reviving this for the 180 grainers.

I got them up to 2727 fps in a 22 inch barrel with H4831sc.

How did you do with H4350. I have a few pounds of it but it is hard to come by here and I use it in my 308 with the 215s.
