First time on this site.Ive found a lot of great information.
My issues are mainly concerning 2 areas.
I've owned a couple Ruger #1's in the past.Had 1 reamed to340wby., nice Elk rifle.
I've also had a 30-338 bolt gun built on an 03/A3 action.
It was so accurate, that it was boring to shoot the thing.
Well, now I want the best of both worlds.
A Ruger #1 in either a 30-338 or a 300 RUM.
If anyone has any info on the difficulty in building either of these cal rifles, please let me know.Im really leaning towards the 30-338.
Any bbl brand, bbl length, twist rate for a 180 pill.
I don't know if the #1 will handle the 404 Jeffries case for the Ultra.
I've always used IMR 4350 on my previous 30-338.
Also any starting points on powder charge.
While we're on the subject, Accurizing the #1& what is recommended.
