Yeah I live at sea level over here near Sacramento. I do a decent amount of hunting here at 8,000'+ before the out of state seasons start. But those first few days always leave me a little short on air haha. I killed a bull elk 11 miles in at 11,200' last year. That was a wild hunt haha

Sorry can't recall if I asked this or not but I'm assuming that you're hiring some help to pack you in and out? Especially the game is that right?

In this instance we packed all the meat to one location, about 4 miles from a trailhead and had a packer with 3 horses come get it for $400. Last year we each packed our camps and our bucks out for 14 miles. I always carry out deer, but it's super nice to have a packer for elk haha.

Haha definitely!! I don't think I would ever go in that far solo after an elk if I didn't have a packer lined up lol.

I really like that angle also! Especially with a deep penetrating bullet. Break the front shoulder down, and smoke the vitals.
