Anybody see this ?

That would be spooky. I always carry lead bear spray.
While that's the ideal, Canada strictly regulates firearm use. Some campgrounds explicitly ban them. To carry a long gun for wildlife defense, you must check provincial hunting regulations.

Handguns (pistols and revolvers) are a completely different story. The Canadian federal government, in its infinite wisdom, classifies them as "restricted," legally limiting their presence to your home, an approved range, a gunsmith, and the direct transport between those locations.

To my American friends: cherish your freedoms and don't let anyone chip away at them!

Key Rules for Carrying and Buying Bear Spray:
  • Purpose: It must be used exclusively for deterring wildlife. You cannot legally carry it on city streets, transit, or in urban environments unless you are traveling directly to/from bear country. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
    • Labeling: The Canadian label must clearly state it is for animal or bear use. If you are traveling from the U.S., Canadian Customs permits EPA-approved bear spray, but you must declare it to border officers and confirm it is for wildlife protection. [1, 2, 3]
    • Size: Maximum canister volume is 500 ml. [1]
    • Civilian Pepper Spray: Human pepper spray (OC spray) is classified as a prohibited weapon and is illegal for the general public to carry or use for self-defense. [1, 2]

Legal Consequences of Misuse:
Using bear spray against another person—or carrying it with the intent to use it for personal protection in an urban area—can result in severe penalties. Charges can include carrying a concealed weapon, assault with a weapon, and possession of a prohibited weapon, carrying prison sentences of up to 10 years.[1, 2, 3, 4]
For more details on requirements before hitting the trail, visit the official Parks Canada Bear Safety Guidelines. [1]
Unfortunately, that is true. Canada did not use to be like that. 50+ years of mostly center-left leaning governments did this.

I do feel sorry for all of our Canadian friends!

As far as our freedoms, the enemy……..the news media, hollywierd, many multi billionaires, and many foreign entities are desperately try to destroy us!

Sadly, too many prefer to "turn the other cheek"…..rather than "b|t&* slap" them back! Far too many people prefer to choose "apathy"! memtb

Dogs can be a problem when it comes to bears.

That bear sensed the dog's level of arousal and matched it.

If she had commanded the dog to her side and established clear dominance over the ENERGY in the moment, maybe it could have diffused/de-escalated quicker?

Ive talked to a few bears myself and otherwise i think the videographer did pretty good.

Didn't feel a trigger pulling moment in the video myself, but I wasn't there.

It sucks to get circled, tense situation for sure.

(Bearasol is a hoax)
What's Bearasol? And why a hoax?

This has probably been said earlier.
Watched the video again just to be sure for myself. But obviously that is a young brown/ grizzly and it looks like the bear is still learning and trying to understand his apex hierarchy.
Watching that lady, it seems to me that she may think she had an impact on the bear and this video could possibly be shown to Karen's out there as guidance.
Personally, I think she just got LUCKY as heck and she should have gotten the heck out of there before letting the bear close in as she viewed it. I don't think her pig grunts mattered to bear.
I think it is a good video though to watch to see how unpredictable the bear can be, though. For that reason, I liked the video.

Say pilgrim can you skin gruz- just as fast as you can bring umm- hahahaha- skin that one an I'll bring ya another one.!
Looked like a very young one. If been more mature I thinking we wouldn't be watching that video do to outcome. Definitely scary! Lucky! Time to buy lottery ticket.
