Lever gun suggestions

For decades they were about the only one selling 200 gr bullets for the 348, so it was very disappointing when they stopped, especially since they built their business as a "reloading component company".

I believe their decision was just based on greed. Once you set up to manufacture something, it is easy to make extras.

They made a big deal regarding the introduction of the FTX bullets, then discontinued selling them (as a reloading component) soon after.
Swift still sells a 200gr A-frame, used to be $55 for box of 50 but, who knows how much they are these days.

It is true that once you're tooled up it is easy to make extras. Except those extras take time to produce. If it's not a dedicated production line, and that's a huge investment, then it has to share with other products, potentially higher demand products. I'll bet that if, say, Sierra came out with a competing bullet and there was enough market demand that you'd see them sold as a component again. It's all about balancing the demands against the available machine time.

Ah me, yes, certain bullet availability can be trying. So glad I cast my own and PC 'em all ... well, 'cept for the .45's that are the 417 to 532 grain paper patched bore rider ones. :)

Question for owners of Henry Model X 45-70. I received the one I won a coupe weeks ago. The recoil pad is like a solid rock. Have owners thought the same and if so have they replaced recoil pad ? I orderd a Simms Airtech pad. Says you can use over existing pad or with existing off. In that case it gives you one inch more length of pull with would benefit me but says more affective with factory pad removed 🤔🙄

Have used the Beartooth Product's over regular pads and crescent steel butt plates. Thinking midway USA for like $22 bucks. Doesn't effect the rifle, changes to another rig in 5 minutes. Has several cut foam pcs for lenghth of pull adjustments and looks good. Brown black camo etc.

I was specifically talking about 348 Winchester bullets, and YES, they sell the loaded ammo, but NO LONGER sell the bullets!
I think Barnes still does, well, the 200gr and 250gr FP FB. I don't see the original 250gr RN I used in my rifle, but they do have bullets. They call these bullets "original," but they arn't the early round nose RN. Cheers 🫡

I believe Barnes only currently offers 220 and 250 gr bullets, no 200 gr.
