ARCA or Picatinny on Chassis

I'm looking at putting my Cheytac into a Chassis. I have an option of going to Picatinny or ARCA on the bottom. I've always used Picatinny for the bipod. This ARCA is new to me. Would love to hear some opinions from you boys.
 
ARCA is quick to slide around and lock in to different lengths on the rail. I prefer the ARCA lock by A419 that has serrations that two pins fit into for more consistency in placement on the rail.
 
I have switched over to arca. I probably would have kept Picatinny if they were recessed into the stock like Gunwerks or the new Manners stocks, but arca is smooth on the bottom so it works better when using alternative front rests like bags or shooting sticks. Nice to have the tripod option as well with ARCA. Kinda depends on how a guy uses the rifle, but that's been my experience 👍
 
All my rifles except a couple ARs are all arca. So easy to use and an adjust back and forth and also a wider footprint on the stock/chassis. Given a choice go arca.
 
I'm loving the Arca over the pic but with a Cheytac I'd only consider the Arca Lock. A high recoil rifle like that can cause sliding on a standard Arca. If I couldn't get the Arca Lock, then I'd go Picitanny with that caliber.

I resisted ARCA as a PRS "boy toy" for long time. When I finally got the first one I knew I was wrong.
ARCA all the way!

What is the ARCA lock? Sorry, this is new to me.

Ya for the big boomers either do Arca Lock or Pic to avoid **** sliding around

I have ARCA without ARCA LOK on 338LM and 300 NM 35˚ IMP and the bipods have never slipped.
I have a couple A419 with the loc feature but don't use it.

mmmmm.......I have Arca on my 30 SM and it slides, not much but after lots of shooting you can definitely see it's moved, if you keep an eye on it it'll be fine. On my 375 it definitely moves, I put a small allen head screw at the front of the rail so it can't come off.

My favorite bipod being the Ascu-Tac FC4 with QD ARCA means I can't use the ARCA LOC clamps from A419. I set the QD up so the bipod fits tightly. If I need to move the position I release the QD lever to its half way spot and the clamp slides without danger of the bipod falling off.
 
If you're already used to Picatinny, it's a solid choice and still totally viable. But ARCA gives you a lot more flexibility, especially if you plan to do any positional or bench shooting. The ability to slide your bipod or rest anywhere along the rail without having to remove and remount is a big plus. If your chassis setup allows it, I'd lean ARCA more versatile in the long run.
