Unis Ginex and Aguila Primers

So, I continue to work with the ginex, velocity is slightly under from when I first started to use them but SD's continue to run single digit. I had to use the Berger seating depth guide to find a sweet spot which is .060 off the lands. Groups hold slightly under 3/4", cold bore shot is always spot on, I cleaned the barrel a couple weeks back thoroughly, the rifle absolutely hated that. An easy rifle to maintain, shoot it and put away. All in all, no issues with the primers

Here are my test notes in comparing CCI #34, CCI #200, and Ginex large rifle primers

quick update on the small rifle primers. this is our fun load with thrown charges. LC21 brass, 24.3 TAC, 75gr Hornady bthp. 2.245 oal. 10 shot string
CCI 450 2791 avg. sd 32 es 107.
Ginex srp. 2773 avg. sd31 es 105
Fiocchi srp 2811 avg sd 20 es 62
the Fiocchi have been the most consistent on multiple outings and temps from 25-56 this year. have had great luck with the Fiocchi in my 22 LBC. with measured charges consistently producing single digit SD. only downside is their cup is softer than CCI or Ginex and might pierce with extremely high pressure or in some ARs.
all shot today, 10 shots let cool 30min. then repeat. for those wanting i little more consistency for long range hunting give the Fiocchi a try.

I have been having problems with the Ginex SRP seating fully in my brass. I thought my hand primer was wearing out. So I contacted RCBS and they sent me all new parts to rebuild it. It helped but they still are not seating fully. I even tried to use my seater on my RCBS Rockchucker to see if they would seat but they are still not seating fully. They are proud of the face. But they will fire. Till I figure these out they will not be used in my AR15.

Also they are the regular SRP not the mag ones.

I have heard they are harder to seat than other primers but by using your press it should have been hard enough to fully seat.
Keep the forum in the loop on your primers please as we all are looking at them as replacement primers

Something else that helps is to use a primer pocket uniformer, I had the same issue with ginex lrp, once I reamed them no more issue, I still use the ram to set them as well. They're different and need to be handled that way
They are harder to seat but you can also try case lube to assist them.

if you are using range pickup make sure you remove all of the crimp. i cut mine and check with pin gauge if there is any crimp left you will have problems with Ginex primers.

Just returned from the range.I went Monday and got some results that mirror todays results.
Fiocchi Large Rifle Primers are great primers!I am on the hunt for more.
300 win mag,180 gr Nosler accubond.I had a load that shot great but my chrony lied to me.It said my load gave me 2964 fps 5 shot average. It was very accurate but warm.A triend had his Labradar and I shot with it and it read well over 3000 fps,a Magnetospeed read about the same approaching 3100 fps.I want around 2960 fps so I am in a work up once again with my new Garmin.
I won't bore you with past workups but today was AMAZING.
With CCI Large rifle magnum primers I averaged 2979.3 fps with a sd of 14 fps.Now the good news,with Fiocchi L R primers,not mag,I shot 5 rounds and all shot 2962 fps.The difference was #1 29682.8 #2 2968.8, #3 2968.9 #4 2968.9 # 5 2968.9 average 2968.8.
I have never done this before!Non magnum primers did this!
The cci lrm primers had exact same load and averaged higher velocities of 2979.3 average,14 fps higher.
I just had to tell you folks!,going to clean the rifle.
