215 Hybrids in Factory rifle

215 Hybrid, # 30729
H-1000- 76.7grs.
Average 2920fps with 12sd.
Peterson long 2 firing on 3rd load.
CCI250. My mag.length 3.600
Coal 3.590 .65 off lands, 2" groups 300yds. 77gr.faint ejector marks.

I have helped a couple friends with load development for factory Christenson 300 WM rifles. The 215's have worked fine but the Berger 205 EH worked perfectly, Boattail junction was right at the bottom of the neck, shot well, low S.D. I don't remember the exact velocity. I attached my load data. It was very safe in the C.A. Ridgeline and there was room to ladder up the powder charge but it shot so well we left it.

Thanks for all this incoming info. I will start with a lot of this and work as load up in my rifle. Should be able to get it to perform how I need it to for the purpose.

@warrbuk i had some 205's I was gonna try out and didn't get around to it. Hade a buddy that wanted some of those for an up coming elk hunt he went in last year. At the time it was hard to get them, so being a friend I decided to sell them to him for his hunt. Haven't looked lately on the 205 availability hence the research towards 215 which are available.

I shoot the Berger 215's out of a longer throated chamber, they shoot great and very easy to tune. Try them, they tolerate jumping much better than the VLD's and hammer game. If they don't work out get a handful of the 205's back from your buddy to try

I've been searching for this specific combo for hours! A Seekins ph2 300 win and 215 bergers. Trying to see if they can be seated long and not reduce powder capacity. Most results have said this is not possible in a factory saami chamber and I would have to seat them deeper than optimal. I'm understanding correctly this has worked for you?

You will be fine at the oal , the 215 Hybrid tend to shoot very well at just about any length. What is your magazine max length.

Seekins advertises it at 3.9

My favorite 300WM shoots the 215s at this velocity average. Have taken all my four 300WMs all the way to 1200 on eSilhouette. One likes 2950. The suppressed shorty runs 2750 with the same load with N570, as the other. The forth one loves H1000 with the 215s.

I have had great success with the 215s in my Seekins PH2 300 WM. There is plenty of magazine length and I am pushing them at ~2920 with a mid-level charge of N565

Good info! What I would really like to do is a prc/ win mag side by side velocity comparison. Most comparisons run the prc with a 220-245 bullet and a wm with a 180. I'd like to see same gun, barrel length, powder type, brass, and bullet (215). Would be interesting to see the difference

With factory ammo you may be correct, but in my opinion, with hand loads, the 300 WM really shines with projectiles in the 200-220 grain range. I have loaded for the 300 PRC, and I would agree projectiles in the 225-245 grain range might be ideal, but it would depend on how one defines "ideal."
