Custom action options

Yeah I understand Terminus or Curtis broke off from one another. I wasn't sure which way it went. Seems like Terminus has kept most of the market share and you don't hear too much about Curtis. I find it interesting that they have all of the same features. I'm really curious if there are any differences. Looking at spec sheets it doesn't seem so.

I think I've pretty much decided that I'd go with a Proof Research pre-fit for this. With military discounts they're the cheapest cut-rifled pre-fit I can get. I haven't reached out to any of the other barrel makes to determine that but I know what my price with for Proof. Like I said before, they're treated me really well with a pre-fit that I have for my Savage 28 Nosler. All of that to say most of the ones I've seriously considered have the option of a Proof pre-fit. So the barrel support isn't so important. Impact, Zermatt, and Terminus all seem like great options because of they. Even Lone Peak is in there, so it's been hard for me to narrow it down. I wish I could get my hands on these actions and see what I really like the most.
Can't go wrong with Proof prefits at all. They shoot great. Enjoy

Of the 90° actions, which one stands out? I like the option of the 75° (or maybe it was 70°) bolt from Impact. It seems a lot of the actions in this discipline are the Impacts so I was kind of leaning that direction.

Any experience comparing the Zeus to the Curtis Valor? They seem to be almost identical. I'm curious if the tenons are the same.
Those 3 stand out. I own a stiller, defiance, bighorn, impact, lone peak, Kelby for 90's with experience with surgeon as well, and for 60's I have the terminus, had a Curtis, ultimatum and a ks arms.

For the money the Kelblys blow me away. I have and had Atlas tacs and obsidian. Once broken in they are so **** smooth, light bolt lift and close, mechanical ejector just run really well. If they were integral they would be perfect. The nanook and Prometheus are now full integral and they would be awesome!

The impact and lone peak are **** near identical. I prefer direct mount over trigger hanger which is why I would edge the fuzion. That said they feel so similar and run incredibly well. I love both of these.

I had a Curtis vector (pre Valor) and have a Zeus. The Valor and Zeus would be the same. I prefer terminus due to Joel as he is a stand up guy. I hear chase is great as well but I've never personally dealt with him. I love the terminus threaded trigger pins and that would edge out the Curtis for me. Other then that both great axrions.

@matt_3479 Thank you so much for all of that. This is what I was looking for when I made this post for recommendations. What's your Zeus in? I was looking at the MDT mags or other to use for the 6 Dasher and it seems like there can be some slight issues with the 3-lugs. This is what's turning me slightly away from that. I assume the remedy for this did a simple feed lip tune. With the pre-fits I'd want to get I think it leads me mostly towards the Impact, Lone Peak, and Terminus. I'll give the Fuzion a closer look and see.

No worries.

My terminus is a 25 creed so don't have any issues. That said the mdt mags for the br's are phenomenal. I do run a 6br on the ultimatum deadline gen 2, 6bra on the impact, and a 22bra on the lone peak. I have 0 issues with any of these rifles for feeding. I didn't pull the barrel and try feeding the 6br out of the mag into nothing from the terminus once and it fed out of the mag. But there was no barrel on it

When Joel ( Terminus ) went to his new bolt diameter it solve most of the issues people see with the BR based cases. I run a BRA out of MDT mags out of an MDT chassis and so does my wife from her Manners T4a. I've also used that action in a TCS, Foundation and MPA Matrix.
The action and mags work great together.
Rarely have I found an action/ stock or chassis combo that doesn't require mag lip tweaks of some sort. MPA makes a great tool for that.
Sorry to butt back in.

You're good. That's more great info for me. That definitely doesn't make it any easier. Haha. Now I think I need to decide what I want more a 3-lug or 2-lug. When it comes down to it I'd probably like a 3-lug.

That's all personal preference. I own both, shoot both and like both. Some hate one over the other. If you can get your hands on some of these it will help

The below letter will explain why the separation occurred. Read the below letter.

After the separation, there was a Federal Lawsuit filed against me. It was successfully defended, then I filed a counter suit. There was a settlement prior to trial, and I was paid.
It's all public information, and the documents can be found in the Western District of Federal Court in Texas.
After the said separation, I made significant changes to my original designs, some can be seen, and some cannot. The bolt diameter was changed to .725" which corrected the feed issues. Engineering, geometry, and critical dimensional changes were made to the fire control system to creat a perfectly timed, reliable, and consistent ignition system. Patented threaded trigger pins were added.. a proprietary DLC formula is applied to every part of the receiver.
We guarantee headspace on every receiver, and have the tightest most consistent tolerances in the industry.
Manufacturing process changes were made and added to produce the highest quality physical appearance of any receiver in the industry… no ugly tool marks or tool path machining marks on any of our parts. We spend a significant amount of time in the machine, and post machine work to obtain this.

The result is a refined 3 lug receiver that is leading the industry.. and also winning the coveted PRS Pro Series title and the Golden Bullet award last year. This was accomplished using the Zeus receiver with the Quick Change barrel feature.
This should answer the question asked about the separation and the differences ….

I was just going to suggest this. I currently own 3 Terminus actions. 1 Zeus SA QC, 1 Zeus LA full thread, and 1 SA Apollo. They are fantastic actions, and full DLC coated (Not nitride like most others).
Forgot to add that Terminus actions also have patented threaded trigger screws (No pain in the *** pins to drive in&out or trigger hangers to deal with). Get a QC Zeus. You will be happy!

As a former 82nd 'refugee' myself, I couldn't not support Joel. Those beauty Terminus actions are outta my price range (I'm not currently shopping anyway) but, I sure am glad there are so many who are able to do so. Rock on Airborne!
Hey brother….
We offer a Military discount.. give a call and we'll get you fixed up.
AATW.

I have 3 Tuebor actions and have had no issues. I have no affiliation with Matt just that I think he makes a good action that might check all your boxes.
