I currently have a MDT chassis rifle setup. It does have an adjustable cheek piece and a folding mechanism. However, in late season weather the aluminum is very cold.

What stock do you backcountry hunters prefer? Pictures would be great!

Finding a stock less than 30 ounces doesn't give you many options for a "long range" stock. Have you looked at the HNT26 chassis. It will be the chassis I use this year, but in AZ we often don't have the frigid temperatures. With most of it being carbon fiber it might work for you.

I should say it is actually 2 things. My hands freeze while carrying the rifle in late season (this year 1 morning was 7 degrees), also it weighs 30some ounces…

Thanks for the question about 30 oz being heavy. It's been a few weeks since I weighed everything. My memory was incorrect. Chassis weighs 50.4 ounces
