223 and Sierra 69gr. TMK

Anyone have any experience with the 223 and 69gr TMK combo? Sierra recommends a 1 in 10 or faster and looking to shoot this in a 1 in 9. What powders? Any info appreciated

I have not shot the tipped but the HP 69 Match King and 9 twist is just fine and is also fine for the 77 gr HP Match King. Varget is what I have had great success with. By the way 1 turn in 9" is faster than 1 turn in 10".

Yes, I realize it's a faster twist. Just wondered with that bullet and the twist as I have only shot the heavier 224 bullets in a 1 in 7 AR

They shoot great out of my 3 1x9 twist guns

That's what I shoot out of my 1-9 twist and I use varget powder.

Used Varget for long time but got tired of shortages. Friend recommended LT-32 AA and have not looked back . best group so far .198 and pretty consistent .250 -.350 groups. this rifle is off the shelf savage model 12 with 26 in. bull barrel just like it came out of box. Berger 70 vld. Have shot 69 tmk also that were good just not as good as bergers.

A long time, when I was shooting an AR15 Hbar 1/7 twist .223 in matches I used to use AA2230 for the Sierra 69 gr MK with good results. I believe I went to H335 for the heavier Sierra 80 gr MK.

The col is to long in my Savage Axis. 1-9 twist.No room to test different cols. To long, feeding problems. imr 3031 Powder.

I currently shoot the projectile in my .224 Valkyrie AR, and my Mossberg MVP Predator in .224 Valkyrie. The AR is a 1-6.5 twist, and with four different powders, I'm getting sub moa. The bolt action is a 1-7 and loves the 77gr TMK's but shoots the 69 gr excellent!

What velocities are you all getting with the 69 gr TMK? I have a 20" HBAR 1-9" that I could run that bullet in. TIA.

24 grains of tac works good for me.
