700 date?

I guys I'm not looking to sell this yet but I'm trying to figure out the date of manufacture I have a 700 BDL 300 win mag with no letter prefix serial number starting with 677 trying to figure date of manufacture Any help would be great thanks for your help sorry I posted it here I just couldn't find a good place to ask
 
Are you sure there are no letters on the receiver? They may not be immediately next to the serial number but still on the receiver. I've attached a serialization document for a lot of firearms that explains how to look up a Remington and it does seem to indicate there should be a letter, combination of letters on the receiver near the serial number.

Should be a stamp on the barrel near the receiver, I think it's two letters. You might post photos of the barrel markings if you're unsure.
 
As Kae006 Said.Date Code Will Be On The Barrel.. Two Letters First Is Month,And Second The Year Made.
 
The early Remington 700 actions won't have a prefix before the #'s on the early models.

I believe it wasn't until the late 60's early 70's that they came out with the first prefix. Which if I recall is "A"

I have a 1965 rem 700 in 7 mag that starts its serial # with 15.

call Remington - give them the serial # they will let you know what year it is.

I too have a M700 that I purchased in Sept of1965 in 7mm Rem Mag. Serial # is 113XXX.
 
It is the barrel stampings that will determine the date. Just google it and it will pop up. Have fun.
