25/06 - retumbo or h4350?

Since you already have both then load a few rounds with each. I usually try at least a few different powders to see which one works the best.

I've used the imr7977 and imr8133 for that weight range. I've used 4350 in the past but was only able to get 3000 FPS as opposed to around 3200 FPS with 8133.

I'd go with the H4350. I primarily use IMR 4831 in my Cooper Jackson Game 25/06 with a 115 grain Nosler BT. I've used IMR 4350 as well with great results and RL-22 with the lighter bullets. At any rate, an underrated cartridge in my estimation, that is tolerant of many propellants, depending upon what you are loading it for. I love my quarter-bore!

4350 good all around choice. Will work with different weights of bullets. If you want speed retumbo should get you in the 3200fps range. I have found IMR 4831 to work well in mine, Average of 3050 with a 115BT

I have been killing deer with a 25-06 for about 30 years. I have shot more IMR and Accurate 4350 with 115 to 120 gr bullets than any powder. My main load is 49 gr of either one of these 4350s, Rem case, CCI 250 primer, 117 Sierra Pro Hunter and it does 3000 fps from my 26" Shilen barrel. I don't shoot deer much over 500 yards because of energy drop off. I have killed a few hundred deer with this combo and never really needed more velocity within my self imposed max yardage. H4350 should work just as good but the load will be a little different. I had another 25-06 that preferred H4831 and it also averaged 3000 fps with the most accurate load, 52 grs, but it had a 24" barrel. As a deer size game caliber the 25-06 is one heck of a drop them in their tracks killer that many have overlooked.

Gonna try and reload some 115gr VLDs tomorrow and have both powders. Any suggestions? I know Retumbo is popular for this round, but I can get all the H4350 I want and Retumbo is not so plentiful around here.

Thanks...
That would be up to your gun. Some guns like differnt powders. Any of mine that like retumbo, I always tried loads with h1000 and mutiple others for the same rifle to find what it likes best
