go buy cheap loaded ammo, then come back and ask why your rifle shoots like crap. You are shooting a Magnum cartridge, there is no "cheap" ammo you always get what you pay for.....if you want cheap go shoot another cartridge 223, 308, 6.5cm

Well, you've already spent about 4K on that Fierce rifle and scope combo...I have three Fierce CT Carbon Edge so I know the drill
...I'd say just suck it up and just buy more ammo you plan to shoot in the field. 300 rds. = $600.00. Its a bit like owning a Learjet and complaining about the cost of fuel...

I agree with what you said about the Remington vs. Winchester ammo. I had the same experience breaking in the barrel of a custom 300 WM just the other day. Remington 180 Corelokts shot under one MOA and 180 Winchester CXP3 ammo would barely group under three MOA at 100 yards. I reload but was using this old factory ammo for break-in and to get the brass. This was from a Kreiger 26" barrel with a Jewel trigger, not the guns fault. The Corelokt isn't a long range round though.
I have a Fierce CT Edge in 28 nosler on order. I have 4 other rifles chambered in 28 caliber. My most accurate load for a custom 7mm rem mag is Hornady factory precision rifle in 162 grain ELD-X. 1/2 moa off the bench. This is the only rifle that I don't load for because I can't achieve better accuracy.

I have Ruger Precision in 6.5 Creedmoor for long range shooting (600 yards and up). So I practice with my Ruger Precision Rimfire. I get the same feel using the longer bolt throw and shoot 100 rds for about $10.00. Off a bipod at 100-200 yards. Cheap to practice, and sharpens my shooting skills.

Federal, Winchester, and Remington all have 7mm Mag ammo for $25/box on Able's website.
Just remember, Point of Impact will vary from your Hornady hunting ammo. Cheers!

We use Hornady 162gr Superperformance SST ammo in our stock Tikka T3 7 mags. Everyone of them shoots less than 1/2moa. Consistant velocity around 3015 fps with an ES of 12. Four elk on the ground with this ammo too (1 shot kills)
I use ammoseek and another is gunbot, same type of website but often have different sources, both are good if you are looking for cheaper places to buy ammo. Brownells wanted $1.52 per round for 6.5 Norma match and I found it on ammoseek for $1.12 per round. I needed the brass, so I bought 300 rounds and it shot a .4" group after five break-in shots. Very good in my opinion for a new rifle with 10 shots fired through it. I am sure once I burn through a few boxes and start developing a load, it will get better. My point is, you can get some very good match grade ammo off the shelf for a good price, if you shop around. I am not sure that Norma makes the caliber you are looking for or not, but if they do, it will be good quality. $22.40 per box and shipping was another $1.00 per box.

I wouldn't buy a new gun to practice with..... unless its the exact same thing you have..... yeah, sounds dumb, I know, and I am sure I will get a bunch of dim witted comments to this statement. You should be practicing with the gun you want to hunt with and with the rounds you want to hunt with. It will be a lot less expensive to buy good ammo and dial your gun in than buy a new gun, scope, pod...……… you get the picture. If you buy a different gun and spend all your time shooting it because its cheaper, your muscle memory will adapt to that gun and not the one you want to use. You need to get to know your gun and it be an extension of your self (like a body part).
I am the last person to say don't buy another gun, I a lot of guns, but I practice with the one I hunt with. and I always shoot the ammo that I plan on hunting with. Ammo, if you are not reloading, do yourself a favor and spend the extra $10 a box to get good ammo. I have had a lot of luck with Hornady, (CUSTOM, MATCH, PRECISION..... they all work for me). Some guns like one ammo better than another...….. just got to see what works best with your rifle.

Personally I wold buy the cheapest ammo you can get your hands on...
Shoot at 300 to 400 yards at a decent size piece of steel.
You will get your positive re-enforcement by getting hits....don't get too wrapped up in group size...
Your really only after trigger time and get your round count up.
Then before your hunt clean the barrel really well and then reset your zero, plus get some shots in to help foul the barrel a little !
I'm sorry the elitest showed up...not everyone needs .25 MOA at 1k day in and day out!
