Not sure where to post this, so to the powers that be: feel free to move it as appropriate.

I am heading to North Saskatchewan in November for a whitetail hunt. Sounds as if it will be long sits in frigid cold. I went ahead and bought a pair of Schnee's Extremes, which are supposed to be some of the warmest. I generally wear 9.5 in boots, sneakers, dress shoes...everything. I have read, and was advised by Schnee's, to size up if a half size. So I bought size 10 with an extra pair of liners. I have never owned boots like these, but they seem huge. I put on my super heavy Smartwool wader socks, and they still seem awfully big. I know for warmth, you want a bit of room. Maybe I am just used to snug hiking and mountain boots?

I plan to use them at home for stand hunting when it gets really cold(for here). They are pretty expensive, so I don't want to keep them and later realize they are just too big.

Anyone with experience here? Opinions?

I treestand hunt in Wisconsin alot. I wear irish setter 1000gr boots for gun season and bow season. I wear a 11 normally and have these boots in a 12 1/2, when I first did it I thought they were too big. I get cold feet easily, I wouldn't worry, I think you will be suprised at how warm they will keep you being a little oversized

Anothe option for you to consider is to get your boots just aabout a half size or so bigger than normal to fit with your wool socks. Make sure as was previously mentioned, to make sure they don't slip around, then put a pair of boot blankets on when you get to the stand. These will help considerably.

Call schnees back and explain, it sounds like the boots are too big for you. Their customer service is outstanding.
I'm located in Southern California and have no access to try on quality outdoor boots before I buy.
I mail order everything. I have boots (for work and play) from a size 10R to 11EE. Ordering boots is like roulette for different brands. I wear wool socks everyday for work (road construction mostly), even in 100+ heat. I generally have two weights of merino wool socks that I wear. Your boots should fit right with the socks you are going to wear. "Wader" weight socks are too heavy to do any real hiking imo.

I will call schnee's and talk with them about it. May be ok as valley and Rick mentioned. I walked around and did ok. Probably will be just a tree stand boot. I have uninsulated Meindl's and 1000gr thinsulate Danners for hiking. I am worried about going down to a 9(no half sizes) because my Danners are 9s and I can barely get a thin wool sock in it. They are really too small.
My every day socks are wool too. I pretty much wear smartwool PhD light hiking socks every day. I love them!
I just ordered a pair of the new Smartwool PhD hunt heavy socks to try out.
