Boy hit his buck at under 50 yds, probably closer to 25. Through and through. Exit size of golfball, 300 wm 200 grn. Not close range but I hit mine at around 150 yds with 300 wsm. Exit close to same as my boys.

Came across and article on Norma Bond Strike. I am not familiar with Norma ammo or the bondstrike. BC seems pretty high, anybody tried Norma ammo or used the bondstrike?

My boy and I both used 200 eld-x this year on deer, 300 win and 300 wsm. No issues and no "explosion" on bullets, from 25 yds to 150 yds. Entry as expected and exit about golf ball. Both hit behind shoulder, 1 shot. Granted they weren't elk. Another friend swears by 180 accubond in his 300 rum...

Looking at maybe starting to reload the 212 eld-x in a 300 wsm but not sure if this bullet is on the long side for a wsm. Anybody tried this tip in a wsm round? Performance?

I hear lots of good things about Tikka. I would look at the 300 wsm or 270 wsm. Those can be had for a pretty good price.

I wouldnt worry much about the gun as long as you can hit what you shoot at. Physical conditioning is what you should be after. You can be anywhere from the flats to deep dark canyons hunting elk and if you get one, you will know what I mean by conditioning. I am from Utah.

I will try to get a picture posted later. Maybe I'm up in the night on this repair. I can describe this as where the action sits in the stock, above the magazine box, about right in the middle the stock is broken in half on both sides.

These scopes came out a couple years ago. I dont see anything about them and I never see any recommendations for them. When I have looked thru them in the past, they were very clear and nice. What happened to them?
